I have a lot of favorite things, sometimes maybe too many. Of course, flowers are at the very top of my list, and right next that are ribbons! I love everything from silk to velvet and grosgrain. Ribbons are fun on their own and add such a special touch to bouquets and boutonnieres. I’m kind of in love with bows and think that they are a perfect addition to pretty much anything! One of my dreams is to have a whole wall of vintage ribbons in my studio space. Just looking at them gives me inspiration. Here is a round-up of some of my favorites!
This is my go-to ribbon for boutonnieres. Their hand-dyed, cotton, frayed edge ribbon is so beautiful. It looks like fancy silk, but is much sturdier and has such a nice feel.

I am in love with their color selection of silk ribbons. The lavender, flamingo feather, and saffron are among my favorites! They are truly the perfect touch for personal flowers.
Oh my goodness, Jessica with Emma Linh makes the most beautiful hand frayed velvet ribbon. Her color varieties are so dreamy. I especially love these for winter weddings and tying up gift envelopes. I’ve even used some extra I had on hand for a ribbon belt when my dress needed a little extra something! She also has the coolest colors of vegan cotton ribbon. All of her collection is so bright and cheerful!
If you live in New Orleans and have not been to Promenade Fabrics on St. Charles, please go! I find it so inspiring just looking around. They have the most beautiful variety of vintage and new fancy ribbons and fabrics. It’s like stepping into the most charming old-world fabric store. My special birthday treat to myself is a couple of yards of vintage ribbon each year! These ribbons make the most special keepsake addition to bouquets and corsages.
