10 Special Bouquets

Hi Friends!

I thought it may be fun to put together a list of ten bouquets that each taught me so much! Originally, I tried to make this about my favorite 10. However, once I started trying to narrow it down, it became waaaaay more than ten! We always laugh in the studio because literally every wedding weekend, we claim that “this wedding is our favorite!”. When it comes down to it, though, I truly don’t know if I could choose an absolute favorite (or ten, twenty or thirty!). I have loved every bridal bouquet that leaves the studio and as I make them all personally, they are all my favorites in some way! Each bouquet is so unique to each of our brides, and it’s always fun for me to see each bride’s bouquet come to life. The bouquets I have decided to feature are a very small snippet of what I have done, and really showcase different parts of my evolution as a florist.

Cherries

Oh my goodness, I loved this Retro Lovin’ shoot with Angela Marie and Ashleigh Jayne. It was over five years ago now, but I just love thinking about it. Those early days were filled with a lot of fun and experimenting! This bouquet was made of peonies and garden roses accented with the cutest cherries. I’m not sure how the bouquet would actually work out for a wedding, it makes me sooo nervous thinking about fresh cherries next to a white dress….haha! But for a photoshoot, it made for a really cute bouquet!

Sarah

This bouquet stands out to me as a representation of what I can do without overthinking. When I looked at all of the flowers I had for this photo shoot with Erika Parker, for some reason I just grabbed flowers by bunches and gathered them together. Typically I separate everything and hem and haw about how they can go together. For this bouquet I just grabbed everything by the handful and made it work. To this day, it is one of my all time favorites!

Kristy

Oh, Kristy! This was a wedding for a dear friend and her taste was just so inspiring! She is an artist and loves color which really showed in her hand painted table runners, tent decor and bar front decor. What a dream wedding! Her bouquet was something of dreams as well, with all of the color (especially pinks, my favorite!) and silk ribbons, it was perfection.

Juliet

Juliet is the most amazing artist and when she asked me to do her wedding flowers, I was a little bit starstruck and a lot excited! Her bouquet is one of my absolute favorites and those poppies were at their absolute best for her wedding.

Talk about a romantic bouquet! And with that dress….all the hearts! I always love when peonies, lilac and sweet peas are in season, they make my job a lot easier.

Erika

This bouquet was so spur of the moment. My good friend Erika Parker was doing a shoot at her studio and I had made this bouquet, just to get some content images. I didn’t realize at the time that it would be one of my favorites. What I love about photo shoots is that some things are possible that wouldn’t be normally. For example, pansies are one of my favorite flowers. I have never seemed to be able to grow them with long enough stems to use in a real bouquet. However, in a photo shoot, it doesn’t matter and I could easily include the little burgundy beauties!

Emily

There really is nothing more precious than lily of the valley. This bouquet says it all!

Delphinium

This bouquet was for a collaboration with Green Wedding Shoes a few years ago. The photo shoot was on our friends’ sailboat and was the most perfect day spent with great company and plenty of cheese, crackers and wine! I feel kind of bad, because I had never been thrilled about delphinium until that day, I honestly didn’t care for it at all. However, after that shoot, I was officially a major fan!

Kaycee
When Kaycee contacted me and mentioned that her colors were yellow and blush, I didn’t need to hear anything else, I was sold! This bouquet was soooo beautiful! It was the sweetest thing when her flower girl asked for a piece of her bouquet and she took out a craspedia and gave it to her. Talk about a sweet moment! And that ribbon from Emma Linh was the icing on the cake.

Kiley
When I heard that Kiley loved pink, I felt like I had instantly found a dear friend. My favorite color is ever changing, but I am constantly partial to any and all shades of pink! This bouquet with so many different flowers in a variety of pinks is just a dream, and not to mention so cheerful!
